Open a drain up and you often find the reason it blocked in the first place. A trap installed wrong years ago that has been catching everything since. A coupling that has corroded through. A length of line that gave out and has been quietly leaking into a joist bay. Sometimes it is a vent that was never connected, which is why a sink gurgles and drains slowly no matter how many times it is cleared.
Fixing those while we are already there is cheaper and less disruptive than a second visit, so the van carries the parts for the common ones. This is deliberately a short list. We do not do heating, and we are not the right call for a bathroom remodel. It is the repair work that travels with drain and septic jobs in Barre and the towns around it.

If what we find is bigger than that, we will say so and tell you what kind of contractor you want. A water heater, a boiler, or a bathroom that needs re-piping is a plumbing contractor's work.

Most of these are parts and half an hour, and if we are already on site for a drain job the labor is largely covered. It is one of the few places in this trade where the extra cost is small. A trap or a coupling is a stocked part. A fixture that has to be matched to what is there may mean a trip to the supply house, and you will hear that before we go.
You still get told the number before anything happens. No one gets an invoice with a repair on it they did not agree to, because that is the fastest way to lose a customer who would otherwise have called again.

Do you do full plumbing work?
No. This is the repair work that comes up alongside drain and septic jobs: traps, couplings, fixtures, short runs of failed line. For heating or a full remodel you want a plumbing contractor, and we will say so rather than take the work.
The drain was cleared and still runs slow. Why?
Often that is a trap or a vent problem rather than a clog. A trap installed wrong, a blocked or missing vent, or a fixture with too little fall will run slow no matter how many times the line is cabled. Those are the repairs we carry parts for.
What plumbing work do you not do?
Heating, water heaters, boilers, remodels and re-piping. For those you want a plumbing contractor, and we will say so.
Do you do these repairs on commercial lines?
Yes, the same scope. Traps, couplings, cleanout caps and short runs on commercial drain lines, usually while we are already there for a jetting or a camera pass.
